Luminous City Church | San Diego, CA
"We know and believe that Jesus is the light of the world. We also believe that we are living in a very important time in the history of our world. The darkness in the world presents a great opportunity for Jesus’ light to shine even brighter. The church is the radiating, reflecting, shining, luminous light of Jesus. There is something reassuring about light shining in dark places, it brings hope & life. We are that shining city on a hill."
Luminous City Church launched in San Diego, CA, in 2019. Carlos & Gina Isaziga lead the young, diverse congregation with energy and hope. This project is the first cooperative effort with Stadia, a sister church planting organization among Christian Churches.
Sunday morning in the wake of COVID-19 look different from before, but Carlos says that's okay. Looking on the bright side of the changes, he said that the current situation is encouraging churches to think differently. "God has broken the mold of how things have always been. There's no need to rush back to what used to be. We now have opportunity to explore many expressions of worship. The church was never the building. We used to know that in our heads, but now we're truly experiencing it. The church is still not the building."
